Airbrush maintenance frequency

The following frequency is a good guide for maintaining your airbrush. It will vary depending on how you use it and the paint you use, so please adjust it accordingly.

1. Gargle and cleanse (after each use)

  • frequency: Do this after each use, when changing colors, or when finishing work.
  • reason: If paint remains in the nozzle and hardens, it can easily become clogged, so doing this frequently will prevent problems.
  • method: Pour an appropriate amount of cleaning liquid (or thinner) into the paint cup, block the nozzle while releasing air, and let the air flow back to clean the inside.

2. Clean the needle (once a week or when you feel paint clogging)

  • frequency: If used intensively, use about once a week, or when paint starts to flow poorly.
  • reason: If paint is stuck to the needle, the spraying will become unstable.
  • method: Carefully remove the needle and wipe it with a soft cloth or special cleaning solution. Be careful not to damage it when reinserting it.

    3. Overhaul (every few months or when problems occur frequently)

    • frequency: Once every few months, or when you notice the nozzle or needle becoming clogged or worn.
    • reason: Internal parts may have paint buildup or deterioration. General maintenance will extend the life of your airbrush.
    • method: Disassemble the airbrush and thoroughly clean each part. Replace consumable parts (nozzles, O-rings, etc.) if necessary.

      Precautions

      • The frequency of cleaning may vary depending on the type of paint (lacquer, acrylic, water-based, etc.).
      • It is also important to follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance methods.
      • Use cleaning fluids and tools that are suitable for airbrushing (especially types that will not damage rubber parts).
